Lemon Syrup

This lemon syrup can be flavored with rose water if you like.
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice (from 10–12 lemons)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)

Stir together lemon juice, sugar, water, and rosewater (if using) in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.
Cooks’ note:
- The syrup can be made up to 1 week ahead and refrigerated in an airtight container.
