Lemon Syrup

This lemon syrup can be flavored with rose water if you like.
  • 2 cups fresh lemon juice (from 10–12 lemons)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
  • Stir together lemon juice, sugar, water, and rosewater (if using) in a bowl until sugar is dissolved.
Cooks’ note:
  • The syrup can be made up to 1 week ahead and refrigerated in an airtight container.
