Like the menus with which he has covered the walls, he would like this evening’s meal to be remembered the way the New Boonville’s are: as a remarkable detour on life’s bumpy journey. “And then maybe you’ll come back and it will be important for your life and the other restaurants you go to,” he says. “A restaurant is just a small portion of what real life is all about.”
