bike ride

PEPY began with one idea, five fit females, five bikes, one month, and 1,000 miles. In just six months, it has resulted in more than $100,000, two schools, and one distinctly improved Cambodia. A few years ago, when Americans Greta Arnquist and Daniela Papi traveled through Cambodia, they looked around and thought: This country needs help. So they brainstormed. They rallied friends and philanthropists, mustered pep and pedal power, and bicycled clear across Cambodia. They called it PEPY: Protect the Earth Protect Yourself. The goals: to raise money for education and to spread health and environmental awareness along the road. The PEPY Ride has succeeded wildly. The second PEPY school is set to open in March, and the group is sponsoring eight more rides through the Cambodian countryside this year. As PEPY president Papi says, she's in this one for the long haul.
