Exposure to pesticides can dramatically increase your chances of getting Parkinson's disease, according to a paper recently published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. A study conducted by scientists at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland showed that people exposed to high levels of pesticides, such as farmers, were 41 percent more likely to fall victim to the disease, which affects the nervous system, than those who were not exposed. More worrisome still was that even people who come into contact with low levels of pesticides were 13 percent more likely to develop Parkinson's.
