Nitehawk
In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the Nitehawk Cinema turns out small plates of nibbles like fried pickles and deviled eggs as well as specials tied to the movies being screened, which include new (mostly independent) releases and vintage fare. A recent screening of The Master featured a dish named the Drunken Phoenix (presumably named for star Joaquin Phoenix—beer-battered chicken breast with whiskey dipping sauce) and a bourbon-based cocktail called Secrets, while the audience at a showing of Dosa Hunt dined on dosas and samosas.
The Theatres at Canal Place
This former art-house cinema off Canal Place in downtown New Orleans underwent a renovation in 2010, and now patrons can take in blockbusters and indie flicks alike while noshing on Mediterranean-inspired dishes (salumi plates, panini, meatball sliders) concocted by chef Adolfo Garcia of Gusto restaurant, which is adjacent to the theaters. The seats are equipped with call buttons, and a large wine list appeals to guests who want some Veuve Clicquot along with their Liam Neeson.
