6. In-N-Out Double-Double

If one 100-percent-pure American beef patty topped with a slice of American cheese is enticing, then two can only be that much better, or so thought the masterminds who introduced In-N-Out’s famed Double-Double in 1965. The Double-Double stacks two beef patties, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, white onion, and In-N-Out’s secret family sauce (the same recipe since 1948) atop a freshly baked bun. Feeling like a double-dare? Order a “4x4” off the Not-So-Secret Menu for four patties and four slices of cheese.
