Sun-Ripened Plum Tomatoes, Gourmet July 2005

Plum tomatoes are incredibly versatile—they are wonderful raw in salsas or cooked in tarts and pizzas. This image accompanied a Bill McKibben article about the seven months he was a locavore, and in it he details how he made gallons of sauce from this type of tomato.
