I have become a convert to these brightly colored silicone potholders. Why? Because if they get messy they can be washed and used again right away, and they are safe when wet. How many times have you inadvertently dipped the corner of your potholder in pan juices or chicken fat and found your fingers burning through the wet cloth? I know I'm not the only one. They can be a little awkward for holding smaller things, but they don't slip. Next time you need to grab a hot roasted leg of lamb by the bone, or hold a hot potato for peeling, you can use the potholder without the "yuk" factor.
