Bourbon Sloe Gin Cocktail

August 1981
Say what you will about blender drinks, they are definitely cold and undeniably fun. This one has the additional advantage of not tasting like every other fruit-based slushy. Look for Plymouth’s excellent sloe gin if you want more than just sweetness.

In a blender blend 1/2 cup cracked ice, 1 jigger (1 1/2 ounces) bourbon, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 pony (1/2 ounce) sloe gin, and 2 teaspoons superfine granulated sugar for 20 seconds. Pour the drink into a chilled 6-ounce stemmed glass. Makes 1 drink.
