Parisian Good-Morning

Makes 1 drink
RECIPE BY CHARLES H. BAKER, JR.
January 1943
Modern absinthes tend to be less bitter than those made before the spirit was banned (1908 in Switzerland; 1912 in the U.S.; 1915 in France), so you may find you prefer this recipe without the sugar.
The Parisian Good-Morning is an invention of purpose, and one not lightly to be toyed with if the subject wishes to maintain his insurance risk in heavy traffic soon thereafter. Take 1 jigger Absinthe, 1/2 teaspoon Orange Curaçao or Cointreau, 1/2 teaspoon Dry Vermouth, the strained juice of 1/4 lemon or 1/2 green lime, 1 teaspoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon Anis or Anisette. Frappé with fine ice, strain into an Old Fashioned glass with a lump of ice and a dash of soda.
