Left Bank Spine-Stiffener

Makes 1 drink
RECIPE BY CHARLES H. BAKER, JR.
January 1943
This recipe comes from a piece on “revivers.” However, Baker fails to provide a prescription for recovery from his cure. It’s actually a nice drink, unlike many of the “hair of the dog” hangover remedies. Feel free to add a dash of bitters and garnish with a lemon twist if you feel so inclined.
A Left Bank Spine-Stiffener calls for Cinzano, or good imported Sweet Vermouth, 2 jiggers; Absinthe or Pernod Veritas, 1 jigger. Shake hard with fine ice, and turn into a small highball glass with a little ice left in for the chill; top with a dash of chilled soda. Four are O.K.
